It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.
